Chef's Tips
- Cut beef into evenly sized cubes for consistent cooking.
- Use a good quality red wine for the best flavor (not cooking wine).
- For a thicker sauce, let sit uncovered for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Cook on the low setting if you can rather than the high setting, as the longer and slower cooking process creates a more tender beef. Cooking on high may cause the meat to dry out.
Serving Ideas
- Creamy mashed potatoes
- Buttered noodles or egg noodles
- White rice, brown rice or wild rice
- Buttery carrots, Brussels sprouts or green beans
- Steamed broccoli or asparagus
- Grains like farro or barley
- With sides like air fried baby potatoes and roasted sweet potatoes
How To Store
Store slow cooker beef tips with gravy in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days or in the freezer in freezer-safe storage bags for up to 6 months. The extra sauce should be stored separately from the meat. Thaw overnight and warm on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a splash of broth to the sauce if needed.

Recipe FAQs
Yes, stew meat or cubed chuck roast can be used but may need more cook time to increase tenderness.
You can sear the meat on the stovetop for a few minutes if you'd like, but it's not required. Searing the meat will create a little more flavor, but not significantly enough to impact the overall recipe.
Yes, but cooking on high can dry out the meat. Check for doneness at 2 hours to avoid overcooking.
Doubling or tripling the recipe may increase cook time. Cook on low, check at 4 hours and allow up to 6 hours for a full slow cooker.
