There are 3 easy ways to get your Instant Pot brown rice to turn out perfect. First, the pressure cook timing needs to be right. Second, the liquid to rice ratio needs to be spot on, and third, you need to let the pressure naturally release. My instructions here for pressure cooking brown rice does all three of these. Brown rice can be substituted for white rice in nearly every recipe to make your meals a little more wholesome.

- Place the brown rice in a colander and rinse thoroughly under cool running water until water runs clear. Put rinsed rice in the pressure cooker.
- Pour water or broth over the rice. Stir. Close and seal the pressure cooker lid. Set to pressure cook or manual on normal for 15 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for at least 10 minutes before manually releasing the remaining pressure.
- Open the lid and fluff rice with a fork. Serve warm with your favorite lunch or dinner or store for later use.

- Pour 1 cup of water into the inner pot of the pressure cooker. Put thoroughly rinsed rice into a cake pan that fits inside your pressure cooker. Place the cake pan on a silicone sling and put into the inner pot (or on top of a trivet with handles).
- Pour water or broth into the cake pan with the rice. Stir. Close and seal the pressure cooker lid. Set to pressure cook or manual on normal for 15 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for at least 10 minutes before manually releasing the remaining pressure.
- Open the lid and fluff rice with a fork. Serve warm with your favorite lunch or dinner or store for later use.

- If your Instant Pot is sensitive to burning rice and grains, use the pot-in-pot method.
