Green Pizza with Broccoli, Arugula, and Pesto

Green Pizza with Broccoli, Arugula and Pesto is one of my family's favorite pizzas to eat because it comes with guilt-free addiction. Nutrient-packed broccoli, arugula, and pesto are not just healthy, but delicious, sweet, and zesty all at the same time.

It's a favorite go-to quick dinner when we are feeling super lazy or have little time. This along with plain cheese, margherita, spinach and feta, and pepperoni flatbread pizzas.

Dinner is never easier than when you have delicious naan bread and cheese. That's really all you need to make a personal naan bread pizza. The rest of the toppings can be almost any vegetables, spices, herbs, and meats you have on hand. Naan bread pizzas are simple and fast and can make a full dinner for your family in less than 20 minutes.

And if you'd like to bake your green pizza on real pizza dough, try this thick crust dough, thin crust dough, or Neapolitan pizza dough.

Ingredients

To make this quick and simple healthy green pizza, you will need:

  • Flatbread: your favorite kind!
  • Pesto: homemade or jarred.
  • Arugula: spinach is a great substitution.
  • Broccoli: fresh is best, don't use frozen.
  • Mozzarella cheese

There is no need to cook the broccoli beforehand, unless you want it very soft.

Instructions

Making your green pizza takes not even 20 minutes, prep time included. You'll only dirty one baking sheet or pizza stone. Yay for easy clean up!

Here are the steps:

STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven preheats, wash the broccoli and chop into ½ inch pieces.

STEP 2: Place the flatbread on a baking sheet. If using a pizza stone, the stone should be kept in the oven while it heats so you'll need to prepare the pizza on the counter. Spread pesto on the bread and top with arugula, chopped broccoli, then mozzarella cheese.

STEP 3: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese begins to bubble. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with a little sea salt to taste and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
