This tropical Mango Pineapple Smoothie makes a quick and healthy breakfast, lunch or snack, especially during the hot summer months! It uses only 4 ingredients and takes less than 2 minutes to make in your blender.
Make it even easier by using canned or frozen fruits so that there's no peeling or cutting necessary. And let the kids help by putting the ingredients into the blender and garnishing their own drink. If your kids are like mine, if they make it, they'll eat it!
We love making a mango pineapple smoothie as a healthy breakfast or lunch and often enjoy them poolside or while hanging out in the yard. It's one of our favorite drink recipes, along with peach milkshakes! Both are even more tasty when paired with peach hand pies or cream cheese danishes.

Ingredients
To make this mango pineapple smoothie you need these 4 ingredients:
- Mango: fresh, frozen or canned mangos all work. The color of mangoes ranges, so the final color of your smoothie will depend on if you use green mangoes or red mangoes. You can see in the pictures here that one smoothie is lighter while the other is more orange because of the different types of mango used.
- Pineapple: fresh, frozen or canned pineapple. Cut the pineapple into large chunks if using a fresh one.
- Milk: dairy milk or plant-based milk. We love smoothies with almond milk or oat milk. Sometimes we use vanilla almond milk or coconut milk to create a slightly different flavor. Coconut water can also be used.
- Yogurt: Greek yogurt works the best in smoothies, in our opinion, as it makes them a little more creamy than traditional yogurt does.
What Other Fruits Can I Add?
Banana, coconut chunks, strawberry, peach and kiwi are some great tasting additions to this tropical smoothie. If you add extra fruit, make sure to increase the liquid also so that it doesn't turn out too thick, unless that's how you like it.
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to the blender in the order your blender recommends.
- Blend on high speed for 60-90 seconds, or until fruit has been completely blended and is smooth.
- Pour and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, whipped cream or maraschino cherries and pineapple slices if desired. Enjoy!

Kristina's Tips
- Use milk for a thicker and creamier smoothie, and flavored waters like coconut water for a thinner smoothie.
- Customize your smoothies by keeping the ingredient quantities the same but swapping out the fruits.
- Fresh fruit, frozen fruit and canned fruit all work well in smoothies. You may need to adjust the amount of liquid depending on how thin or thick you like your smoothies. Frozen fruit makes a thicker and more frothy smoothie while fresh and canned fruit yields a thinner consistency.
- Easily make all of your smoothies dairy free by using plant-based yogurts like coconut milk or almond milk yogurt. A banana also works as a substitution for yogurt. Use plant-based milk or coconut water instead of dairy milk.
Variations
- Dairy-free/vegan: use coconut milk or almond milk yogurt and plant-based milk.
- Make it thinner: use a little more liquid.
- Make it thicker: use a little more fruit and a little less liquid. A tablespoon of chia seeds or protein powder will also thicken it a bit. Smoothies made with Greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt will also be thicker.
How Can I Make My Smoothie Thicker?
Make it thicker by adding more fruit.
How Can I Make My Smoothie Thinner?
Use more coconut water or liquid.
