They cook in the air fryer in less than 15 minutes so they are quick too. If you don't have an air fryer, they can be made in the oven following this recipe for cheesy bacon wrapped tater tot cups.
I use both my basket style air fryer and my oven style air fryer. Both work great, but the oven air fryer can hold more tater tots at one time. So if you're doubling or tripling the recipe, you'll probably have to work in batches.
- Frozen tater tots
- Uncooked bacon slices
- Shredded cheddar cheese
Yes, you can use thawed tater tots instead of frozen ones. The reason I use frozen tater tots in this recipe is because most of the time, tater tots are bought frozen and cooked straight from the freezer. If using thawed tater tots, the air frying time remains the same.
STEP 1: Cut the bacon slices into 3 even pieces. Wrap one cut slice around each frozen tater tot and place into the air fryer basket or tray.
STEP 2: Air fry on 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 14 minutes. With 3 minutes left, top each bacon wrapped tot with about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese.
STEP 3: Carefully remove each tater tot with a spatula. Serve warm or at room temperature.
*Do not use tongs to remove them. The tongs may squish the tater tots.

- 15 frozen tater tots
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
