Our olive pizza bursts with tangy, salty goodness in every bite, making it a must-try for pizza night. Simple yet flavorful, it brings a taste of the Mediterranean straight to your table just like our vegetable loaded Mediterranean Pizza, but without the extra veggies. We make olive pizza on our homemade pizza dough, Neapolitan style pizza dough or thin crust pizza dough depending on what style pizza we're craving. I also have a secret way to make the crust soft and full of flavor- it's the best!
Olive pizza is made with 3 kinds of olives - black olives, kalamata olives and green olives. It's topped with mozzarella and feta cheeses, red onions, fresh oregano and sea salt for a salty, savory taste inspired by Mediterranean flavors. I also use similar ingredients to make a soft and fluffy loaf of olive and feta bread.

Ingredients
To make a 12-14 inch olive pizza you need:
- 1 package of pizza dough: or try our homemade pizza dough or thin crust dough
- ⅓ cup pizza sauce: this no-cook homemade pizza sauce is our favorite
- 1 cup olives: a combination of black, green and kalamata olives
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup feta cheese crumbles
- ¼ cup sliced red onions
- Fresh oregano leaves to taste
- Sea salt to taste
Chef's Tips
To make the best crust, mix about a tablespoon of pizza sauce with a splash of milk and lightly spread on the outer perimeter of the pizza immediately before cooking.
Step-By-Step Instructions
- With the pizza stone or pan in the oven, preheat the oven to 525℉.
- Prepare the pizza dough according to the package instructions. Shape the dough on a pizza peel generously coated with semolina flour or cornmeal, pressing down on the center to leave the outer crust slightly raised until you've formed a 12-14 inch circle.
- Evenly brush pizza sauce on the dough. Sprinkle evenly with the mozzarella cheese. Layer with olives and red onions. Sprinkle on feta cheese and sea salt to taste. Very lightly brush the outer crust with pizza sauce.
- Transfer the prepared pizza to the preheated pizza stone or pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and begins to brown.
- Remove the cooked pizza using the pizza peel and sprinkle on the fresh oregano leaves. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing into 8 pieces and serving.

How To Store
Store pizza in the fridge wrapped in plastic wrap or foil for up to 7 days. To freeze pizza, wrap each slice individually in freezer-safe plastic wrap or place into storage baggies. Freeze for up tp 6 months. Reheat directly from frozen in the oven or air fryer, or thaw in the fridge overnight and warm in the microwave.
Recipe FAQs
While pizza has the best flavor when cooked on a seasoned pizza stone, you can use a round aluminium pizza pan or nonstick baking sheet if you don't have a stone.
Pizza dough will stick to the peel if the peel isn't coated with enough semolina flour cornmeal. If the dough sticks, add more until you can shake the peel with the spread dough easily sliding across it.
It's not necessary to prebake the crust, as you will overcook it but undercook the toppings.
In a traditional oven, you should cook homemade pizza at 525 degrees Fahrenheit.
