Air Fryer Meatloaf is simple, quick, and delicious! The air fryer lets you cut the time it takes to bake a meatloaf in the oven nearly in half! And you still get a moist, super delicious perfectly cooked meatloaf. Make it with this barbecue cheddar recipe or use your favorite traditional meatloaf recipe.
Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, ranch seasoning, salt, pepper, ½ cup cheddar cheese and ¼ cup barbecue sauce.
Spray or brush the air fryer basket with olive oil. Put the meatloaf mixture into the basket and shape into a loaf. Set the temperature to 370° and the timer to 20 minutes.
At the end of the 20 minutes, brush with the remaining barbecue sauce and top with the remaining cheddar cheese. Set the timer for 5 more minutes. The cheese should be melted and beginning to brown and the internal temperature should be 165 degrees F when done. If needed, cook longer in 2-minute increments until temperature has been reached. *A 2 lb meatloaf will need to cook for 40-45 minutes.
Let rest for 5-10 minutes before removing.
Notes
You can place the meatloaf directly on the basket, on parchment paper, or on a grill tray.
Always spray the basket or brush with oil to make the meatloaf easier to remove.
Check on the meatloaf every 5 or so minutes, especially if it's your first time making it in the air fryer. If the top does start to brown sooner or more than you'd like before the meatloaf is fully cooked, cover it with foil until it's time to glaze.
A 1 pound meatloaf fits in most air fryers better than a 2 pound loaf. Increase the ingredients proportionally to make a bigger loaf.
