- 2 lbs asparagus spears
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1 lemon
Wash and dry asparagus. Trim ½ to 1 inch off the end of the spears.
Preheat the air fryer (if your model requires doing so) to 400°F (204°C).
Rub asparagus with olive oil. Place into the air fryer basket or on the tray. Sprinkle with desired amount of salt and pepper. *You do not need parchment paper unless you prefer to use it for easy cleanup.
Air fry for 4-6 minutes, depending on thickness. Asparagus stalks will be bright green and turning slightly golden on the leaves when done. *It's not necessary to rotate the asparagus halfway through.
Squeeze juice of the lemon over asparagus before serving.
Prep: to prepare fresh asparagus spears for cooking, rinse them under cool running water. Then snap about ½ to 1 inch of the ends off, where the asparagus begins to turn to white or gray. There is no need to use a knife– asparagus spears easily break when bent.
Store: keep in the fridge for 2-3 days. Asparagus will lose its crunch when stored for later use.
Reheat: put in the toaster or air fryer for 1-2 minutes. Alternatively, put on a baking sheet and warm in the oven.
